Cooling design starts with IT power, load distribution and permitted equipment operating conditions. Average room loads are insufficient where individual high-density racks exist. Airflow, temperatures and reserves must match the actual load profile.

Room, in-row and rack-based cooling differ in airflow paths and integration. Hot- or cold-aisle containment limits mixing. Free cooling must be assessed against the site, system and usable temperatures.
Liquid cooling for HPC and AI
Direct-to-chip systems remove heat at the components. Coolant distribution units, fluid quality, pressure, leak monitoring and heat rejection are designed together. Remaining air-cooled components still need adequate airflow.
Operation and heat recovery
Redundancy, part-load operation and service access affect availability and energy demand. Measurement points make changes assessable. Heat recovery depends on temperature, demand over time and a reliable connection to the heat consumer.
