Plan IT infrastructure. Connect systems securely
Networks, servers, storage and security concepts must work together. High Knowledge plans IT infrastructure for enterprise applications, critical processes and sovereign AI. We align technical architecture with availability, operation and growth, including interfaces with buildings and data centres.
Start with applications and protection needs
A sound IT architecture starts with the services your organisation needs. We assess applications, user groups, data flows and dependencies, then derive requirements for performance, availability, recovery and access. Existing systems and operational resources form part of the baseline.
An office, a production environment and a local AI platform have different requirements. Rather than selecting components in isolation, we develop a coordinated target architecture. It shows which systems are needed at each location and which interfaces must work reliably.

Networks and site connectivity
We plan structured cabling, network zones and connectivity between workplaces, servers and sites. Bandwidth, latency, redundancy and maintainability are assessed against application needs. Management access and production connections have clearly defined roles. Existing networks are reviewed for constraints and technical dependencies.
Servers, storage and recovery
Compute capacity, memory, storage and access performance are derived from workloads. Virtualisation, backup and recovery are assessed alongside failure and maintenance scenarios. Having a backup does not prove successful recovery: responsibilities, procedures and tests must match the intended operation.

Integrate security into the architecture
Segmentation, access protection, administration paths and logging are considered early. We assess identities, permissions and separation of systems with different protection needs. BSI IT-Grundschutz can support a structured assessment. Required measures depend on protection needs, risks and applicable requirements; design alone does not constitute certification.
Assess AI-based security functions deliberately
AI-assisted detection can support analysis of large volumes of events. Its value depends on data quality, integration and an operational team able to respond. We consider false positives, access to logs, approvals and escalation paths. Automated actions need defined limits and accountable ownership; they do not replace fundamental safeguards.
Prepare infrastructure for sovereign AI
Local AI applications may add requirements for GPU capacity, storage, networking and cooling. We coordinate IT sizing with power, space and operation. Data access, model deployment, updates and monitoring are treated as a connected process. Whether existing enterprise IT is sufficient or expansion is needed is assessed against specific workloads.
Plan migration and operation from the start
The target architecture must be achievable in practical steps. We consider dependencies, data migration, maintenance windows and rollback options. Application, infrastructure and security owners are involved early. Handover criteria and documentation clarify when a system is ready for operation and who will manage it.

Concrete deliverables beyond a component list
Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables include requirements, target architecture, capacity assumptions, a network and security concept, and a prioritised implementation sequence. Interfaces with building and data centre design are identified. Specifications and acceptance criteria can support procurement and implementation. The design remains understandable when product decisions are made later.

Frequently asked questions
Is this service only for large data centres?
No. We also plan enterprise IT, individual sites and server rooms. Scope and sizing follow actual requirements.
Should network and IT security be planned together?
Yes. Data flows, segmentation, identities and administration access must be considered together so protection and operational needs align.
Can existing systems remain in use?
We assess capacity, support, interfaces and protection needs, then develop justified decisions on continued operation, modernisation or replacement.
