Sovereign AI.
Your knowledge. Your control
From initial analysis to reliable operation: High Knowledge supports SMEs, enterprises and pharmaceutical companies in deploying sovereign AI and controlled AI agents. On your premises or in our data centre in Germany.
AI consulting that connects strategy and infrastructure.
Valuable data, established IT systems and demanding processes need an AI solution that fits your organisation. We translate your goals into a practical architecture, assess benefits and effort, and support the technical and organisational rollout.
Sovereignty means control over your choices: You decide which models, data sources and tools are used, who can access them and which tasks require human approval. This includes transparent dependencies, controlled data flows and a planned approach to replacing components.
Our consulting combines AI integration with experience in Data centre design, information security and Operation. Explore the underlying platform in our section on Edge AI and local AI.

Agentic AI: from answering to acting.
An AI assistant answers questions. Agentic AI connects multiple steps, uses approved tools and works towards a defined objective. We design these workflows so that permissions, checkpoints and accountability remain clear.
01 / Access knowledge
Search documents, manuals and specialist data from approved sources. Prepare answers with references and enforce existing access rights within AI search.
02 / Connect workflows
Combine information, create reports, structure cases and prepare tasks for ERP, CRM or ticketing systems. Each integration receives clearly defined permissions.
03 / Embed control
Require targeted approval for write operations or external actions. Restrict tool access, log decisions and provide stop and fallback procedures. Critical decisions remain open to expert review.
Sovereign AI for your organisation.
The following examples illustrate possible starting points. Together, we assess which tasks suit your business, budget and regulatory requirements.
SMEs
Find internal knowledge faster, prepare proposals and service responses, and simplify recurring document work. Initial deployment focuses on measurable benefits and manageable operating effort.
Enterprises
Manage AI across departments and locations with central policies, separate knowledge spaces, tiered permissions and consistent quality checks. Existing identity and security processes are integrated.
Pharma & life sciences
Search approved SOPs, compare documents and prepare technical drafts. We clarify GxP relevance, validation scope, data integrity and change management with your quality assurance team. Product- and patient-related applications require a separate assessment.
From analysis to production deployment.
Each phase ends with a clear deliverable and an informed decision on the next step.
1. Analysis & target architecture
Examine processes, data quality, protection requirements and existing IT. Prioritise use cases and assess benefits, risks and total costs. Result: an agreed target architecture and prioritised roadmap.
2. Architecture & governance
Select models, knowledge sources, interfaces and hosting location. Define roles, data flows, approvals and responsibilities. Result: a technical architecture and suitable operating policies.
3. Pilot & acceptance
Test representative, approved tasks. Assess answer quality, references, access protection, unauthorised agent actions and behaviour during failures. Result: documented test results and clear acceptance criteria.
4. Deployment & operation
Train teams, roll out applications in a controlled way and hand over responsibilities. Organise monitoring, model changes, updates and recovery. Result: managed operation with agreed services and continuous quality checks.

On your premises. Or in our German data centre.
The operating location follows your protection requirements, IT strategy and service needs. We also consider administration, telemetry, updates and external tools to embed data sovereignty throughout the architecture.
On your premises
Models, knowledge stores and approved AI functions run on your infrastructure. We plan computing capacity, networking, power and cooling alongside the application and integrate it into your existing IT.
Suitable when: Data and operation are closely tied to your location or particularly direct control is required. Offline capability is planned and tested for the functions you need.
Hosting in Germany
Operation in our data centre in Germany with agreed data and tenant separation, controlled administrative access and defined backup and recovery procedures.
Suitable when: You want to use your own AI applications while outsourcing infrastructure and operations. Capacity, availability, support and responsibilities are defined in the scope of service.
Prepare systematically for EU AI Act compliance.
Our aim is a deployment that fully addresses the requirements applicable to your specific use case. Compliance work therefore begins with the intended purpose and continues through to operation.
- Classify: Determine provider and deployer roles, risk classification and applicable obligations.
- Implement: Plan the required transparency, human oversight, AI literacy and technical safeguards.
- Document: Record responsibilities, assessments and required documentation clearly.
- Maintain: Assess changes to models, data and use cases, and update measures accordingly.
Applicable obligations depend on the system and its use. Hosting in Germany alone does not establish compliance. We coordinate legal classification and required approvals with your responsible specialists. Further guidance: European Commission guidance on the AI Act.
Consider regulated processes from the outset.
Data protection, information security and sector-specific requirements are considered together. In pharmaceutical projects, we involve QA and the responsible departments early, with a defined intended purpose, risk-based assessment and documented change management.
The EMA guidance on AI in the medicinal product lifecycle provides a technical basis for assessing relevant use cases. Required evidence depends on the actual application.
What you take away from our consulting.
Within the agreed project scope, you receive a prioritised use-case portfolio, an architecture with documented data flows, a cost and implementation plan, and an operating and access-control concept. This includes defined testing and acceptance criteria, training measures and an overview of required evidence.
This gives you a sound basis for deciding which application to deploy first, which prerequisites are still missing and how to keep operations manageable over time.

Frequently asked questions about sovereign AI.
Do we need to train our own AI?
Not necessarily. Existing models and access-controlled knowledge retrieval often provide a suitable starting point. Task quality, available data, licensing terms and cost-effectiveness determine whether further adaptation is worthwhile.
Can agentic AI work entirely on its own?
The degree of autonomy is defined for each task. We start with clearly bounded workflows and specify which actions may run automatically and where people must review or approve them.
How do we start with a pharmaceutical use case?
With a clearly defined intended purpose and the responsible departments. Together with QA, we clarify GxP relevance, suitable data, risks, testing and approvals before putting the application into production.
How long does deployment take and what does it cost?
This depends on integrations, data quality, protection requirements and the operating model. Following the analysis, you receive a clear project scope with estimated effort and milestones. For an initial infrastructure estimate, use our Data centre and Edge AI calculator.
