Your Central Partner

A data center is a complex project involving many different parties. As a general contractor, we take over the overall performance of a data center for you. Until the turnkey handover of the data center to you, we are your central contract and contact partner.

We design your data centre for flexibility, efficiency and scalability. Availability, expandability, capital expenditure and operating costs are assessed together against your requirements. Coordinated planning and delivery keep both CapEx and OpEx in view.

Modular data center construction 2.0

Modular data centres use a high proportion of factory-prefabricated components. Depending on the construction concept, complete room modules or prefabricated elements are transported to the site and assembled there. Building regulations and project requirements apply regardless of the construction method.

Prefabrication can reduce on-site work and support standardised inspections. Whether it improves energy demand, material use, construction time or cost depends on factors such as transport distances, manufacturing processes, location and service life. We compare these factors for your project.

High Knowledge coordinates the agreed services from planning to turnkey handover. Expandability, technical redundancy and appropriate operations are considered together.

Wood construction data center

Timber construction can be a suitable alternative to conventional methods for data centres and IT buildings. Wood is a renewable material and stores carbon during use. A building’s environmental impact also depends on sourcing, processing, transport, operation and subsequent reuse or disposal. We compare construction methods across the complete project.

During design, we coordinate the structure, technical loads, moisture protection, building envelope and expandability. Prefabrication can simplify on-site assembly. Depending on the requirements, timber, concrete and steel can also be combined in a hybrid structure.

Fire safety is demonstrated for the specific project. Wood is combustible, so suitable component assemblies, connections and protective measures form part of the fire safety concept. Local requirements and the necessary evidence are decisive. The Model Timber Construction Directive and its explanatory guidance support appropriate design within their respective scope.

For your data centre, we assess construction method, security requirements, power, cooling, construction sequence and cost together. This creates a transparent basis for choosing between timber, conventional construction and modular systems.

Conventional solid construction

A data center built using conventional construction methods is erected brick on brick from the floor slab to the roof. The walls inside the building are often load-bearing walls, so the room layout can hardly be changed later. A data center or IT office building is always built on site, which means that construction work takes longer and is dependent on weather and temperature.

Materials for conventional construction

Bricks are a very common building material in Germany because they have good physical properties such as thermal insulation and fire protection. They are also very durable, which makes them a good choice for exterior and interior walls.

Concrete protects well against fire and heat. But it needs additional insulation to function well as a thermal insulator. Concrete walls are made in a factory, floors and ceilings are poured on site.

Aerated concrete is a common building material because of its good thermal insulation properties. However, it has a high water absorption capacity, so it is important to ensure good workmanship and a water-repellent plaster when using it.

Calcium silicate brick is a mineral masonry material. Its suitability for fire protection, sound insulation and thermal performance is assessed for the chosen construction. Comparing environmental impacts requires manufacturing data, transport and the building concept, among other factors.

Modular and serial construction

Modular data centres combine repeatable components and prefabricated technical or room modules with project-specific overall planning. Serial construction reuses proven designs and interfaces. Depending on the concept, capacity can be added in planned expansion stages.

Factory prefabrication can shorten on-site processes and support consistent workmanship. Early coordination of the structure, fire protection, power, cooling, security and IT infrastructure, as well as transport and installation, is essential.

We assess which level of prefabrication and construction method fits the site, capacity requirements and intended operation. Timber, conventional masonry or concrete construction and modular systems can also be combined in a hybrid solution.

You have the vision, we implement it!

From technical consultancy and design through construction to load and functional testing, we coordinate the agreed services for your data centre. Clear responsibilities, documented tests and a structured handover establish a basis for subsequent operations.

Availability, energy demand and expandability are aligned with your requirements. We compare suitable components and coordinate the specialist trades to develop a project-specific solution with traceable decisions and defined performance objectives.

As a general contractor, we basically provide all services ourselves. We are your sole contractual partner and bear full responsibility and liability. All coordination tasks are in our hands.
